THE FORTY NINER
Activities center around The Forty Niner, which looks like an old-fashioned saloon, is complete with a rock fireplace, a can-can stage, an antique bar and round tables. This space is perfect for meetings, small receptions and kick-up-your-heels parties!
LIGHTED TENNIS COURT
Our tennis court is regulation size, features basketball hoops too, and is lighted for night-time use. It is a common area shared by all groups, if more than one are present on the same weekend. Serves as a great outdoor meeting or activity place, as it is located in the heart of camp.
THE GRUBSTAKE
Wait until you sit down to breakfast, lunch or dinner to taste some of the best down-home cooking this side of the Mississippi — Texas style! Our dining hall (The Grubstake) and our kitchen staff (the Cookies) cannot be out-done. Meals are prepared with love and care and are always served in hearty portions — no one leaves hungry!
SWIMMING POOL
Our beautiful hilltop swimming pool is 30 x 55 feet, large enough to accommodate group activities. Built on the bluff overlooking the Blanco River, it is also flanked by limestone amphitheater-style seating, making it an picturesque setting for presentations, or just soaking up some sun. Lifeguards must be hired for your group with advanced notice.
CLIMBING WALL
Our Climbing Wall is 42-feet tall and provides a beautiful view of the beautiful rolling hills. Put on a harness and beat your fear of heights! Operated as a as a challenge-by-choice course (individuals set their own goal and climbing pace).
SCREAMER
Put on a harness and be pulled by your group to the height of your choice, up to 40-feet high! Pull the release cord when you're ready and enjoy an exhilarating swing!

BUNKHOUSES

Circle B Bunkhouse, Exterior
Circle B is named after one of our co-founders, Jane Brown. It is a two-story cabin, air-conditioned and heated. There is one large dorm-style bathroom and one private bathroom.

Circle B sleeping areas include downstairs, upstairs, and the deck, sleeping 30 on bunk beds. Circle B is built on the bluff and the back porch overlooks the Blanco River.
Bar K Bunkhouse, Exterior
Bar K is named after one of our co-founders, Carol “Mama” Knolk. Bar K is built on the bluff and the Blanco River can be seen and heard from the back porch.

Bar K is a bunkhouse cabin that is air-conditioned and heated, sleeping 22 on bunk beds. There is one large dorm-style bathroom and one private bathroom.

By the time Bar Ø was built, Mama Knolk and Jane Brown had run out of things to name cabins after… so it became Bar Nothing.

Affectionately known as Bar Nada, it is air-conditioned and heated, and sleeps 20 on bunk beds. There is one large dorm-style bathroom and one private bathroom.
Western Empress Bunkhouse, Exterior
Western Empress is named after an old hotel sign that Mama Knolk and Jane Brown saw on a road trip through Arizona. It is connected to the Forty Niner Saloon, our main meeting room.

Air-conditioned and heated, the Western Empress Bunkhouse sleeps 30 on bunk beds. There is one large dorm-style bathroom and one private bathroom.
Lazy D Bunkhouse, Exterior
Lazy D is named after Polly Denham, Mama Knolk’s daughter.

The Wagon Yard
The Wagon Yard consists of three covered wagons. They have been updated to be air conditioned, and sleep five.

In the hot summer months, we’re an all-girls camp, but the rest of the year, we offer year ‘round fun at our Great Escapes for women and Mother-Daughter weekends!

My summers at RRR were the most special times of my childhood. I have so many great memories that I'll never forget. Thanks to Rocky River, I found my true calling in life … teaching children! And, I fell in love with Wimberley so much, that I live here now!

‒ Mollie Cessac Booth Years at camp: 1979-1991, 1999-2000

This was my very first camp I ever went to and let me tell you it was the best! I only wish I had found out about it earlier so I could have spent more than just one year there. Y'all are an amazing camp and I hope you keep running for another 50 years.

‒ Claire Tilton Years at camp: 2002

I loved performing on stage and modeling in the fashion show. I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow, and how to do synchronized swimming. I wrote a 'Snoopy' column for the newspaper. In fact, a lot of the things I loved then are things I still love today.

‒ Shannon McCann Years at camp: 1966-1975

RRR is not just two months of SCREAMING prepubescent girls singing songs in the Grubstake, Free Swim at the river or raids on other cabins, it becomes a way of life that helps guide you through the rest of your life. Not unlike the Marines who are brothers for life, those of us who were campers and counselors are sisters for life and will do anything to help each other, no questions asked!

‒ Lezli Smith Giancarlo Years at camp: 1981-1989

I had a wonderful experience of being a counselor at RRR 1960-61 and 1966-67. Those first 2 years I knew and loved both Mama Knolk and Jane. Later, I was there with Skeet and Sandy. I have great memories of all those special people and all the fun times at camp. I'm so glad the camp is still going strong!

Oh how I wish I could still be a young girl and go to RRR every summer! I truly miss those wonderful weeks of absolute fun and excitement. This camp holds a very special place in my heart and will always throughout my life. I cannot wait until the day that my newborn little girl will be able to drive through the gate and live the summer days that not only her mother lived, but her grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother enjoyed. I cannot wait until the day that I can tell her all about her special great-great-grandmother (we called her GG, but most knew her as Mama Knolk) that opened beautiful Rocky River Ranch and created a place for many girls to create memories from. I am truly happy to see Mama Knolk's spirit still living on. May it continue to live on the dream that she always wanted.
